Residential MEP Design

Project Overview

This comprehensive Residential MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) design project showcases advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit. The focus was to design a fully coordinated electrical system for a residential building, adhering strictly to modern building codes and power distribution standards. The objective was not only functional safety but also aesthetic integration of the electrical framework within a modern architectural context.

Collaborating with simulated architectural models, the design evolved to prioritize energy efficiency. We calculated lighting loads, appliance demands, and anticipated future technology integrations to dimension the main service panels accurately. This foresight ensures that the residential unit is effectively "future-proofed" against increasing electrical demands.

The final deliverable was a pristine set of construction documents. By establishing custom view templates and filtering parameters within Revit, the visual clarity of the plans was drastically improved. This project cemented my understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a critical tool for interdisciplinary coordination.

Key Contributions

  • Engineered a complete 120/240V power distribution layout ensuring safe and efficient load balancing.
  • Utilized advanced Revit electrical coordination tools to detect and resolve spatial clashes with architectural and mechanical elements.
  • Developed custom Revit view templates to standardize drawing aesthetics and streamline the documentation process for the final drawing package.
